Jerry was a lifelong resident of Carlyss. He was well known due to his 40 plus years of dedicated work service to Cameron Telephone. He was also known for his impressive carpentry work and his mesmerizing Christmas decorations, and his compassion towards others. Jerry was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.
He is survived by his children, Jesse Waite of Columbo, Texas, James Waite and wife Pok Hyon Cho of Sulphur, Julie Waite and Brian LeDoux of Sulphur, Jennifer Waite and Randy Ferrell of Bossier City, Louisiana; two sisters, Dianne Harrington and husband Donald, Brenda Sumpter and husband Dennis, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; he is preceded in death by one son, Johnathan Waite; his brother, Terry Waite; and his parents Bertha Mae and Harry Waite.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Nay Vickers will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in the funeral home from 5 - 9 p.m. and continue on Thursday morning 8:30 a.m. until time of service. His final disposition is entrusted to Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, financial gifts will be accepted by the family to be applied toward funeral expenses.
