

White Bird - Idaho - John Walter Sirman, Jr. 89, passed away on May 12, 2017 at Grangeville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Grangeville, Idaho.
John was a graduate of Sulphur High School and attended McNeese University. He served in the United States Army. He was resident of the Sulphur area. He worked at Cities Service as a foreman and retired. He recently moved to White Bird, Idaho. He was a member of the Maplewood Methodist Church, where he was honored and recognized as the oldest member of the congregation of 63 years. He enjoyed square dancing and gardening. John and Mary traveled, seeing the country and enjoyed genealogy research.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sirman; one brother, Charles Sirman and wife Pat of Ragley; two nephews, Tim and Tom Sirman; two nieces, Tamera and Katrina. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Walter and Anna Belle Sirman Sr.; one sister, Myrtle Louise Boudreaux; one nephew, David Lee Butts.
A celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Maplewood United Methodist Church in Sulphur, Rev. Roger Templeton is the pastor and will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Monday evening, May 22, from 5 – 8 p.m. and continue on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until service time at the Maplewood United Methodist Church.
