Lela was a lifetime member of Parkview Baptist Church. Before retiring she was employed by Pitt Grill as a waitress and cook. She enjoyed drinking coffee and loved playing Bingo.
Survivors include her son, Lucas Stewart and companion Shirley Kibodeaux; three daughters, Glenda Sue Jordan, Candy Conner and Angel Rene’ Stewart; brothers, Terry Lee O’Quain, Stevie O’Quain; sisters, Geraldine LeBleu and Loraine Johnson; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Stewart; parents, Clarifay "Tonko"and Cornelious Oquain; 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral service for Lela are at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, in Parkview Baptist Church. The Rev. Randall Chesson will officiate. Burial will be in Farquhar Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation in be held in Parkview Baptist Church Thursday, 3-9 p.m. and resume Friday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
