

She was a native of Sulphur and was a longtime resident of Hackberry before relocating to Baytown, Texas after Hurricane Rita. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and friends, and organizing activities for her apartment complex.
Survivors include her children, Letitia Drounett, and Roland Drounett, Jr. and wife, Liz, all of Sulphur; her siblings, Leslie Swire of Baytown, Texas, Gaylynn Varnes of Sulphur, and PeeWee Swire, Lionel Swire, Katherine Portie, and Carolyn Hebert, all of Hackberry; and eight grandchildren, Glenn Guidry, Arin Arabie, Darren Guidry, Allison Guidry, McCaelan Arabie, Austin Arabie, and twin granddaughters, Bailey and Hailey Drounett. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lula Swire; her step-father, Bab Swire; and a brother, Lester Swire.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Doucet will officiate. Burial will be in New Hackberry Cemetery.
