She was a native of Oklahoma, and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 57 years, coming from Merryville. Margie worked as a school crossing guard with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Department for 32 years and was also the co-owner Midkiff and Son Citgo Service Station. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Sherman Midkiff and wife Gale, Dorothy Linscombe, Donald Midkiff and wife Anna, Roger Midkiff and wife Mitzie, and Rickie Midkiff, all of Sulphur; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn A. “Red” Midkiff; her daughter, Donna Sebren Wolfe; and her five siblings.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Cooper Cemetery in DeRidder. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
