Mary Ann Meche

Mary Ann was a native of Columbus, Georgia and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 40 years. She enjoyed reading, especially newspapers and magazines, cooking, gardening, watching soap operas, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, David Meche and wife, Donna, Mark Meche, and Carol Albarado, all of Sulphur, Kenneth Meche and wife, Charmaine of Carlyss, Betty Sartin of Bell City, and Donna Gore and husband, Richard of Cataula, Georgia; her sister, Francis Broderick; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Elton Joseph "Bobby" Meche Sr; sons, Elton "Joe" Meche Jr. and Michael Dave Meche; her parents, Buford and Goldie Craft; and sisters, Brenda Hovey and June Newman.

A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 22, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Jody Barrilleaux, Celebrant. Burial will be in Arceneaux Cemetery in Rayne. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brian Roy, Brandon Meche, Justin Meche, Joshua Meche, Jody Meche, and Billy Joe Meche.
