

She was a native of Beaumont, Texas and had been a resident of Carlyss for the last 25 years, coming from Silsbee, Texas. Nancy had attended French High School in Beaumont. She enjoyed dancing, singing, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Pat Miller of Carlyss; her children, Joseph Patrick Casses, Jr and wife, Diana of Port Arthur, Texas, Debra Ann Burton and husband, Wade of Dayton, Texas, Douglas Wayne Casses and wife, Rose of Buffalo Gap, Texas, and Margaret Kathleen Saulsbury of The Woodlands, Texas; her siblings, William Henry Thurston and wife, Nelva of Vidor, Texas, Josephine Thurston McNeely of Silsbee, Texas, Jimmie Immel and wife, Betty of Silsbee, Texas, and Patricia Ann Lagle and husband, Woody of Greenfield, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Brad Casses, Theresa Casses, Monique LeJeune, Calvin Burton, Misty Calk, Mandy Neely, and Melissa DeRanieri; fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Thurston and Mabel Estelle Immel; and a brother, Freddie Ray Immel.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 22, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Revs. Douglas Wayne Casses and Christopher Calk will officiate. Pallbearers will be Matthew Miller, Colby Blackwell, Chase Blackwell, Colton Blackwell, Benjamin Neely, Brad Casses and Roy McNeely. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
