

Ovey, also known as "Junior Boy" was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He received his pilot's license for recreational flying.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Agnes Babineaux of Sulphur; his sons, Gary Babineaux and wife, Pam of Sulphur, Bryan Babineaux and wife, Nanette of Lake Charles, and Scot Babineaux and wife, Ellie of Nederland, Texas; his brother, Billy Babineaux of Sulphur; seven grandchildren, Jeff Babineaux, Justin Babineaux, Brad Babineaux, Shane Babineaux, Emily Delaney, Jenna Hickman, and Jake Babineaux; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ovey and Lydia Babineaux; three siblings, Doris Morgan, Jerry Babineaux, and Steven Babineaux; and a grandson, Josh Babineaux.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, December 12, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Deacon Chris Gregory will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Sunday with a scripture service at 6 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
