Born in Hamburg, Arkansas, Mrs. Doiron grew up in Ruston, Louisiana, where she graduated from Louisiana Tech with a degree in Business Education. She did graduate work at the University of Arkansas and at LSU. She was a retired teacher, having taught in Livingston, Jeff Davis, and Calcasieu parishes. She had lived in the Maplewood area since 1946 and was an active member of the Maplewood United Methodist Church and the Retired Teacher's Association. Her most recent job was at Lacassine High School where she taught business courses for thirteen years, and was also head of FBLA, and the yearbook sponsor. She loved teaching and instilled the same excellence in others that she demanded of herself. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing bridge, baking, and was a talented seamstress. She was known in her family as the “Jello Queen”. She had a beautiful smile, a quick wit, and a wonderful sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
