Richard was formerly a Florida High School Allstate Football player at Hillsborough High School who went on to play at the University of Miami. Richard retired from CSX Railroad after 42 years of service. Richard was married to his High School sweetheart, Disha (Massey) Fingar for 59 years. Besides Richard's great sense of humor and ability to play pranks, he was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time camping, shooting critters, and fishing at his camp at Toledo Bend.
He is survived by his wife Disha; daughter, Melinda Yarbrough (Harold) of Sulphur, Louisiana; sons, Richard Fingar Jr. (Maryellen) of Dyer, Indiana, and Alfred Fingar (Cathy) of Alliance, Nebraska. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nathen, Jacob, Jack, and Orla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey and Raymond Fingar; sisters, Carolyn White and Mary Parker; and his granddaughter, Disha Breann Yarbrough.
