Rodney graduated from Sulphur High School in 1967 and from McNeese St. University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science. Rodney served in the Army National Guard from 1971-1977.
Rodney had a fulfilling 33 year career with the Calcasieu Parish School Board maintenance department. After retirement, Rodney and his wife, Vicki Williams, moved to their dream house in Fairmount, TX on Toledo Bend. Rodney had a passion for breeding and trading horses and of course, reading horse magazines. Rodney had a special talent and love for gardening and his friends and family leaned on him regularly for agricultural advice.
He grew up hunting and fishing in the south Louisiana marshes and loved watching his LSU Tigers, Astros, Cowboy and Saints!
Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Vicki Williams, his step-son Doug Klepzig and his wife Nora Klepzig, and his two step-grandsons Lance and Landon Klepzig.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Rodney touched are invited to Hixson’s Memorial Funeral Home, 2051 E Napoleon St, on Saturday, October 9th. Visitation is from 12-2pm. Service is at 2pm with the burial to follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, LA.
