She was a native of Edgerly and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 60 years. Ruth enjoyed listening to country music, making bird houses, taking care of her yard, and spending time with her family, especially enjoying watching her grandchildren's ball games.
Survivors include her children, Brigette Daley and Larry Joseph "Bubba" Trahan, Jr. and wife, Dora; her sisters, Hope Hebert and Colleen Austin, all of Sulphur; six grandchildren, Sara Story (Alec), Leah Johnston (Sam), Luz Redmon (Caleb), Joseph Trahan III, Dylan Trahan, and Silvia Trahan (Micah); and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Trahan, Sr. and her son, Jamey Lynn Trahan.
A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 29, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, led by Hixson's Celebrant, Jody Tyler. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday in the funeral home.
