

Thelma was a native of Lake Arthur and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 80 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church where she served as a Lay Minister, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed 40 years of bowling, being in the Bowler's Hall of Fame, and was a seasoned Bridge player.
Survivors include her foster child, Mona Pellerin; five grandchildren, James Pellerin Jr and wife, Melissa, Cory Pellerin and wife, Debbie, Natalie McCauley and husband, Bryan, Rebecca Simon, Richard Pellerin and Lori; great-grandchildren, Kristen, Courtney, Candice, John C. Pellerin, Meagan and Josh Pellerin, Tyler, Lauren, Sarah, and Abby McCauley, Jordan and Dusty Roy, Connor, Kent and Ashton Pellerin; nieces and nephews, Alyne Champagne, Ann Rassmussen, Charleen Parrish, Jimmy and John Champagne, Neal Lyons and wife, Kathy, and children, Kristy, Kathy and Darryl. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil R. Lyons; nephews, Edward and Ray Champagne; brothers, Denny, Alcee, and Edward Champagne.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 8, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Huhn will officiate. Pallbearers will be Conner Pellerin, Josh Pellerin, Jimmy Champagne, Tyler McCauley, Neal Lyons, and Corey Pellerin. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday with a Rosary service at 6 p.m. and will resume at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
