Theresa "Terry" Wilda Gaspard Baynard

A native of Leroy, LA, Terry had lived in Sulphur the last 54 years. She was a longtime waitress with Papanias of Lake Charles and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved life and had a passion for Bingo! She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Sulphur.

She is survived by her husband Gilbert Baynard; daughters Sherry Ellender, Carolyn Jarvis (Steve) and Charlotte Rackley (Robert); grandchildren Theresa Dawn and Jason Ellender, Josh and Brian Jarvis and Matthew and Rachel Rackley; great grandchildren Carmen Ellender, Tommy Tarver and Austin Jarvis and “one on the way”; sisters Hilda Trahan, Velma Dubois, Laura Goodwin, Margaret Melancon, and Brenda Primeaux; brothers Jimmy, Alvin and Danny Gaspard; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Gilbert “Brother” Baynard, Jr.; parents Paul and Addnes Gaspard and sisters Nell Thiobodeaux, Mildred Conner, and Paulette Gaspard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 11, 2010 from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church under direction of Hixson - Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate followed by burial in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South. Visitation will be in the funeral home Friday from 5 until 8 pm with a 6 pm scripture service and from 8:30 until 9:45am on Saturday.
