

William was a native of Conway, Ar. and lived in Sulphur for 53 years. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he was an usher and a eucharistic minister. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching football.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret Walter Parks; son William Simpson Parks, Jr., and his wife, Judy, of Houston, Tx.; daughter Alice Parks Bernard and her husband John, of Baton Rouge; sister Hazel Patterson of Conway, Ar.; brother John G. Parks of Deatsville, Al.; sister in law Joy Parks of Beaumont, Tx.; and grandchildren, Heather Beard and her husband, Chris, of Plano, Tx., Lauren Benson and her husband Greg, of Frisco, Tx., Kasey Lynn Parks and Joseph Evan Parks, both of Houston, Tx., and John Walter Bernard of Baton Rouge.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Parks and Doris Hartsell; brother, Harold Parks; and sister Lola Caldwell.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to St. Scholastica Monastary, P.O. Box 3489, Ft Smith, Ar. 72913; or to the American Lung Association, 2325 Severn Avenue, Suite 8, Metairie, La. 70001.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery in under the guidance of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday with a scripture service at 7 p.m. and from 8-10 a.m. Thursday, all in the funeral home.
