

She was a born February 25, 1931 in Sikes, raised in Columbia, Louisiana and had been a resident of Hackberry for over 28 years. Willie was a member of First Baptist Church of Hackberry. She was an awesome cook, known for her homemade biscuits. She enjoyed fishing, loved playing canasta, spending time with her family and especially teasing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Kaye Desormeaux and husband, Brian of Hackberry, Wayne Alford and wife, Chris of Sulphur, Michael Alford and wife, Denise of Hackberry, Tim Alford and wife, Susy of Hackberry, and Teresa Guidry and husband, Kurt of Lafayette; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Willie Mae outlived every family member in her generation. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clarence Alford; daughter, Linda Dalgleish; granddaughter, Nicki Pearce, her mother, and her five siblings.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, in First Baptist Church of Hackberry. The Rev. Gerard Little will officiate. Burial will be in New Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held in the church from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Monday and resume Tuesday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.
