Zoan "Pat" Boyd

Pat was born January 17, 1934 in Amarillo, Texas to Ernest and Clara Shewmake. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She met the love of her life and married at the age of 20. She had three children, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Pat was a member of Houston River Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, her Honey Bun, Charlie "Bill" Boyd; sons, Chuck Boyd of Sulphur and Daryl Boyd (Eric) of Lake Charles; daughter, Brenda Ford (Len) of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Nicholas Mowbray (Ashley) of League City, Texas, Holly Mowbray of Houston, Texas, Billy Mowbray of Brooklyn, New York, Courtney Colvin (Jeremiah) of Fort Worth, Texas, Chris Ford (Laurie) of Tomball, Texas, and Scott Ford of Lake Charles; and eight great-grandchildren, Tayden Guidry, Lily and Charlie Mowbray, Grant and Livia Colvin, Aubree, Emerson, and Bennett Ford; and niece, Linda Bridges. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Liz Shewmake; sister-in-law, Cecile Craddock; and niece, Gay Craddock.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, in Houston River Baptist Church. The Rev. Lonnie Gothrup will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home and from 1 p.m. Tuesday in the church until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of one's choice.
