

Dorothy Ann was born in Tacoma to Mary and Michael Yusko, December 12, 1929. She passed in her sleep, in her apartment at King’s Manor, Tacoma on August 3, 2016. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents, and her 6 siblings: Michael, Helen, James, Mary, John, and Ed. The Yusko family moved to the farm in the Summit-Waller area in 1935. She graduated from Puyallup HS in 1947, and remained a true Viking alumni, still meeting-up with her classmates. Dorothy met James B. Lucas at a Grange Hall dance; they married in 1949, and raised their 4 children, Robert, Ronald, Randy, and JoAnn in the Summit-Waller area. They have 9 grandchildren and a bushel of great-grandchildren. Dorothy was employed by Brown & Haley Candy Co. for 29 years, as a Payroll Manager. She was a life-long baseball fan. First of her brothers Johnny and Eddie, and then an avid Mariner fan. Throughout her life mom had many networks of friendship: Birthday Club, Ceramics, Pinochle and Canasta groups, church and bowling. Dorothy kept a busy social calendar, and dearly loved to gather with family and friends. She was an active member of McKinley Park Christian Church for many years. She was a bright and happy spirit and bestowed kindness and cheer on many hearts. The family will honor her with a memorial service at the Lutheran Church of Christ the King, 1710-85th St. E, Tacoma, 98445 on Saturday, Aug 27, 2:00 PM. Mariners fan attire would be appropriate. Donations to King’s Manor or the American Diabetes Foundation in lieu of flowers.
