Gerald Theodore Kochel

Gerald (Jerry) Theodore Kochel: Born Sept 20, 1935 in Council Bluffs, IA. Died April 26, 2014 in Bonney Lake, WA. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Gladys. Brothers Larry (Gloria) in Auburn, WA and Richard (Janice) in Tacoma, WA. Children are Teddy, Marc (Chris), Janet (Freddy Curfman), and Kristin (Paula Bennett) and their families. He moved from Iowa in 1956 to Washington. He enjoyed family, fishing, bowling, Bluegrass music, reading and baseball. He volunteered at Algona/Pacific and Bonney Lake food banks, was an officer for Thrivent Fraternal Organization. He was a school teacher 25 years at Auburn High School, Bethel High School, Spanaway Lake High School, and Everett Community College. He has a BA University of Washington and a Masters of Education from Central Washington University. He was a current member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bonney Lake, WA. Services will be held at New Hope Lutheran Church in Pacific, WA on May 10 at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friends of the Pierce County Library or Concordia Lutheran School Bonney Lake Campus.
