Jack Cline White was born to John Cardwell White, Father. Margaret Ella White, mother, February 13, 1923 in Kent WA. He attended McAlder Elementary and Sumner High School. Jack is probably the only one to ever ride a motorcycle through the old Sumner High School. He was known throughout the town for doing stunts on his bike such as standing on his head while riding. He also was a midget car enthusiast. After high school he worked as a Dairy farmer with his dad.During his younger adult years he was fond of attending the many skating rinks in the area especially at Redondo. He was a very good skater. He decided to make a trip to Vancouver Canada on Labor Day in 1947. There he met the love of his life Ellen. Thereafter he would commute on the weekends to Vancouver timing the trips around the milking schedule. After an 8 week romance Jack and Ellen decided to marry and were married November 4, 1947. Ellen's family gave the marriage six weeks to last, well 68 years later I guess you could say true love won that bet! Jack continued to run the dairy until 1950 when he decided to sell the cows and go into logging. Those were the days when many times one log was a full load on a logging truck. He continued logging and started land clearing around 1958. After work and on the weekend he would spend the time at the property at Lake Tapps water skiing, swimming and fishing with the family. In the 70's he started building roads and land development working with son John and daughter Patti. He started farming around 1984 growing cucumbers, corn, pumpkins and rhubarb working with his son John. The farm continues today as a productive asset to the valley farm lands even after his retirement. He very much enjoyed the times taking his boat the Lady Ellen to Canada fishing. He would always catch the biggest fish. Later he would skipper his yacht the C-Quest throughout Puget Sound, San Juan Islands and Canada always being very happy at the Helm. Jack had very strong Christian beliefs that helped him live 92 wonderful years. Jack passed away on November 1. He is survived by his Wife Ellen, daughter DarLyne, sons John and Roger and daughter Patti (Bryan), ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and Dale Evanger who was like a son to Jack.
