Beth Ann,
We are so very sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a neighbor of ours for 20+ years.  We had our moments, but made peace with each other years ago. She was one hard working woman.  Find peace in knowing that she is no longer in pain and in a much better place.  If you are having a memorial for her, please find a way to let us know; we'll be there.

Jeanne was the first person I met in the dorm at the University of Washington in the fall of l966. I was a transfer student, as was she; we were theatre majors and became fast friends.
Jeanne was a flambouyant person, a "wild and crazy" gal; lots of fun,full of energy and ambition. She always dressed up in those days, her fashionable, floppy hats, blowing in  the wind as she drove her red Thunderbird through the University District!
Jeanne was the first of our group to go
to New York City where she found success in the off-Broadway play,
"Che" and was featured in Life Magazine.
She appeared in movies ("Saturday Night
Fever" etc.); she was an excellent photographer, and she always pursued her varied interests with drive and enthusiasm. 
Jeanne was one of the first, if not the first, woman Handsome
Cab driver in Central Park and always had an interesting tale to tell about her many customers.
When Jeanne left New York, she returned
to Tacoma and became a successful realtor and property owner. 
She was a single mother, devoted to her
only child, Bethanne, and worked to 
make sure that she had the advantages of the best education and material comfort.
Jeanne's mother, Angie, lived next door and she was a loving daugter,and dedicated caregiver during her mother's'illness and passing.
During our conversations of the past few years, Jeanne told me she was dealing with various health issues, but I was not aware of how serious her problems were. We had not spoken in months,so I called and left a message just before Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast(I still live in New York), but I did not receive a return call.  I have been thinking of her for weeks so yesterday, for some reason, I googled her name and saw that she had died. I am shocked and saddened by her passing. Jeanne was a loyal friend for over 45 years and I am missing her now.
