

Mildred (Billie) R. Blum, 98 of Puyallup, passed away on Feb.11, 2017. As a Foster mother for many years she had a tremendous impact on the lives of those in need. She took care of 27 newborns, in addition to Terry, a child with special needs who was blessed to be in her care for 12 years. Throughout her life she continued to welcome many into her home.
She liked to keep busy, she enjoyed gardening, crochet, crystals, crafts, but it always came back to family as being her greatest joy. Born on July 3, 1918 in Ephrata WA to John and Hazel (Lorde) Rayborn, she married her husband of 50 years, Ernest Blum in Wenatchee. Along with her parents and Ernest, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara Bonner.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Bean; grandchildren, Lisa, Dan, Lance, Blake and Cindy; great grandchildren, Chase, Josh, Kaitie, Christopher, Ciana, Hope, Colton, and Payton and sisters, Alma and Peg. There will be a Graveside Service on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Seattle Children’s Hospital, PO Box 5371, Seattle WA 98145.
