Roland Thomas Butler Jr. was born June 13, 1937 in Jackson, Michigan. He passed away January 25, 2013 with his family by his side, in Enumclaw, Washington. Tom served in the Navy from February, 1955 to May, 1958, and then he joined the army (so he could jump out of airplanes), and served until December, 1961. He was a proud veteran the rest of his life.
Tom is preceded in death by his son Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Betty Nerland-Butler, sons; Thomas Butler, Daniel Pate, and Donald Pate; daughters; Cheryl Fletcher, Laurie Young and Debbie Wolfe; two brothers in law; sisters Evelyn Burpo and Sue Berry; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
