Sharon was born September 14, 1960 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She was the 4th of 6 children born to Marie and Eugene Geffrey. The family moved to Renton Washington in 1962. Every summer the family would cram into the family car and travel back to So. Dakota to see beloved relatives. Some of her fondest memories were from the trips made to visit all the many aunts, uncles and especially cousins. She came from a large family and some relatives soon followed and made the move to Washington. There were many happy holidays shared with family.
Sharon suffered from health problems at a young age. She was born with a heart defect which made it hard for her to keep up with the others. She would tire easily and her lips would turn blue. But that didn't stop her from trying to have fun and keep up with the other kids. She was born a fighter. She also had mastoid and lost hearing in one ear when she was a little girl. She pushed on. Soon after graduating from Federal Way High School she had a heart attack. She had open heart surgery and later developed lupus. While all her peers were starting theirs lives out of high school, She had to fight for her life. A few years later she met Ron and became a married woman. He loved her and took care of her through all her illness. They later had their son Robbie who was born with major health problems due to premature birth from Sharons kidneys failing. She now had another reason to fight and keep going. Her pride and joy needed a momma. Ron and Robbie were her world. Her life was a struggle with health issues for both her and her child. She suffered ups and downs. She was a great cook and would try all kinds of recipes. She kicked the habit of biting her nails and was so proud she started painting them and always had a manicure, which she did herself, not at a salon. Sharon also loved her mom and dad, siblings, nieces and nephews. And always had candy! She was thoughtful and caring and never forgot a birthday or holiday without sending her love and thoughts in a card. She had a Christmas tradition of wrapping all kinds of gifts and goodies in baskets. which we all looked forward to. She didn't fail her last Christmas to keep the tradition even though she was very sick and weak. She used to love to go visit her parents in Mt Vernon and every year would stop at the tulip festival because it was so beautiful. She loved flowers. I picture her running and jumping and laughing through the tulip fields now with her wings and she can do all the things she couldn't do that most take for granted here on earth. She will be forever loved and missed. Rest in peace my sweet little sister.
