Albert grew up in Portugal. He was born to Manuel and Filomena Madruga on the island of Pico, in the Azores. He then moved to the island of Terceira, where he met and married his wife, Durvalina. Together they immigrated to the United States in the early 1970s to live the American dream and start a family.
He was an avid woodworker as well as he enjoyed home improvement and remodeling projects. He was so skilled at woodworking that as a tradition, he built his grandkids beautiful toy boxes for their first birthdays.
Albert loved the sport of soccer. He played on Portuguese league teams as a young adult and he watched every single game that he could. He refereed games later in life and was present at his kids and grandkids games. Some of his fondest memories were watching games on TV while his brother watched on the other side of the country so that they could talk on the phone about the game while watching.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest brother, Manuel, his youngest brother, Armando, his sister Maria and his brother's in law, Gilberto and Antonio.
Albert is survived by his wife, Durvalina, his daughter, Nancy Parker, her husband, Scott, and their children, Brooklynn and Jackson. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement of Rome Parish of Sun City, 15800 N Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351, on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:00AM.
