Betsy L. Underwood

Betsy L. Underwood was born Betty Lou Gaveske on February 19, 1948 in Owatonna, MN, the daughter of James R. & Marion Gaveske. She attended McKinley Grade School & Owatonna High School, graduating in 1966. After high school she worked at Federated Mutual for a period of time. Betsy married Lynn D. Underwood at the Associated Church, Owatonna on June 10th 1967.

Betsy was a full time mother, homemaker & wife. After that she spent twenty plus years working at Owatonna Shoe Company. After relocating to Chaska, MN, Betsy worked at Home Goods in Eden Prairie, MN, until retirement.

Betsy really enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, luncheons with her friends, Monday Night Book Club Meetings, golfing, time at the lake in Blackduck, MN, and SHOPPING.

She is survived by her husband Lynn Underwood, her daughter Sara Jane (Jeff) McKay of Owatonna and a son Mathew J. (Tracee) Underwood of Pueblo, CO. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Tess Heyer, Paiton Underwood, Ryan McKay, Kyle McKay, Katie McKay and Brody Moffit, sisters Barb Johnson of Sun City, AZ, Sandy (Bob) Schuette of Bixby, MN, Mary Jo (Jim) Griffith of Novato, CA, Diane (Allen) Trandem of Owatonna, brothers Ronald (Wendy) Gaveske of Andover and Michael (Lisa) Gaveske of Owatonna. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Betsy was preceded in death by her father James R. Gaveske, mother Marion Gaveske, a sister Lois Bollenbach & many aunts & uncles.
