

She was born March 5, 1940 in Harlan, KY. She moved with her family at an early age to Waco, Kentucky where she attended grade school and later graduated from Madison Central High School. She attended UK and worked at the Blue Grass Army Depot (Avon). She later transferred with the government to Philadelphia, PA for a period and ultimately transferred to Phoenix, AZ in 1967 to take a position with the Administration of Social Security. It was there she met and married her husband, John Gasper, they were married for 48 years. Although not blessed with children of her own, she was a special Aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
After retirement, she assisted in her husband's appraisal company. In her spare time, she became the family genealogy expert, spending countless hours researching and traveling to compile her extensive family genealogy library, most of it before digital age. She moved away from Kentucky early in life, but she never lost her fascination and love for her ancestors and their descendants that comprised much of her family's heritage.
She is survived by her husband, John Gasper, three sisters, June Gabbard (Eunas), Richmond, KY, Pamela Smith (Bruce), Georgetown, KY, Kandy Lambert (Larry), Winchester, KY and five brothers, Jerry Castle (Shirley), Roselle, IL, Jasper Castle, Richmond KY, Wendell Castle, Farmington, CO, Bill Castle and Bobby Castle (Sandy) of Richmond and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Elsie Castle, Richmond, KY, two brothers Harold Castle of Chicago, IL and Glenn Castle, Farmington, NM, two sister-in-laws, Martha Castle, Chicago, IL and Jewell Castle, Richmond KY and a nephew, Jeff Castle, Richmond, KY.
A private family service is being held in Arizona. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
