Betty Christensen, Sun City and Peoria resident since 1995, passed away May 11, 2021 at her care home in Peoria. She was 92. Betty was born in Rhinelander, WI in 1928 and spent most of her adulthood living with her husband, Marvin, and their son, Michael, in Brookings, SD. She was an executive secretary in the Plant Science Dept. at South Dakota State University in Brookings for 30 years. She finished her career as an executive secretary at Schwan’s in Marshall, MN in 1994. After retiring in 1995, she moved to Sun City and enjoyed her life there for 20 years. Her last years were in various care facilities in Peoria. She was a good mother and loved her son very much. She was an excellent cook, very fond of sewing and enjoyed the company of her poodles for many years. She was a member of Belleview Heights Church in Sun City. She was preceded in death by her four older sisters, former husband, Marvin, and infant son, Terry and is survived by her son, Michael and his wife, Lynette, of Prescott Valley, AZ and her nieces and nephews.
