Betty L. Hauerwas

88, of Sun City, Arizona entered eternal life, joining her beloved husband Earl, on Wednesday, February 17th, 2016. Betty was born on September 4th, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Herman and Annette Hellwig. Betty was raised by her mother and loving step-father Jerry DuChaine. Betty met Earl Henry Hauerwas in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and they were married for 52 years. Betty and Earl had four children who were raised in Neenah, Wisconsin. Betty was a teacher's aide for the Neenah Joint School district and volunteered for the American Cancer Society. Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, playing Bunko and cards with friends, cross stitching, and spending time with her precious dog Zoe. Betty will be missed dearly by her children Diane (Les) Vallow, Nancy Lopas, Jerry (Maureen) Hauerwas, and Lori Rice; seven grandchildren, Scott (McCall) Vallow, Eric (Jennifer) Vallow, Ryan (Ana) Vallow, Christopher Hauerwas, Caitlin Hauerwas, Callie Hauerwas, Travis Bartelt; nine great grandchildren, as well as her sister Audrey Sawallich; many nieces and nephews and friends. Betty was preceded in death by the love of her life, Earl Hauerwas, and her parents. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 25th, 2016 at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, Arizona.
