Bruce Alexander MacDonald

Bruce A. MacDonald passed away on March 6, 2016. He is predeceased by his father Shadrach M. MacDonald, his mother Mary Howes MacDonald (nee Kelley) and sister Lois Walk. He graduated from Tufts University Class of 1943 and proudly served our Country in WWII with the US Navy aboard the USS Sederstrom. He saw action in the Pacific Theatre. He leaves behind his sons Alan B. MacDonald (Pat) of FL, Graham W. MacDonald of CT, granddaughter Elizabeth MacDonald, grandson Jonathan A. MacDonald, daughter Suzanne MacDonald Fratus (David) of CA, his step-son John Tillitson (Paula) and many grandchildren. Bruce devoted his life in service to others. A celebration will be held at Sunland Memorial Park & Mortuary on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Visitation and reception begins at 8 a.m. with service to follow at 9 a.m. Interment will be private. A special thanks to Susan Hunt of Childers & Berg, caregivers at D & L Care Home in Peoria and Lakeview Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Military Order of World Wars, Patriotic Education Endowment Fund or the charity of your choice. Any donations specifically for the Military Order of World Wars endowment fund should be made out to: MOWW West Valley Chapter 131 and sent to treasurer, Col (Ret) Jerry Wojtas at 19065 N.
