~ CONSOLATION ~
God sees the love in each falling
tear as we say our last goodbyes.
To the one we love so dearly,
soon to leave this world of sighs.
God feels our pain of sorrow as
we try to understand,
Why one we love is taken to
another distant land.
There’s a blessed consolation
as we pray there by the bed,
That the one we love may leave us,
but disease can’t keep him dead.
For the God of life has promised
in the pages of His word,
“To be absent from the body,
makes us present with the Lord,”
And with Him we’ll live forever,
without sorrow, guilt or pain,
Jesus paid the price to save us,
His the loss and ours the gain.
What a blessed consolation that
someday we’ll meet again,
And we’ll share our joys forever,
in our Father’s vast domain.
