Carl Clarence Steingraeber

Carl Clarence Steingraeber, 90, of Surprise, Arizona died peacefully at Loving Arms Assisted Living on Thursday, January 6th, 2023. Carl was born October 18, 1932 in Pinconning, Michigan to Fredrick Reinhold and Anna Katherine Steingraeber. Carl grew up on the Steingraeber Family Farm, graduated from Pinconning High School and attended college in Michigan. Carl served in the United States Army. He married Sandra Diane Kirchberg of Freeport, Illinois on June 3rd, 1962. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1991. Carl managed the Sanitary Laundry in Freeport, Illinois. Carl enjoyed hands on projects and he loved dancing; he taught dancing in Freeport.

Carl is survived by siblings, Lucille (Larry) Ferrigan and Leonard (Jean) Steingraeber; children, Steve (Lisa) Steingraeber, Scott (Katrina) Steingraeber, and Mark (Kazue) Steingraeber; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and long-time partner Violet Jensen. Carl and Violet lived in Rockford, Illinois before moving to Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin, and wife Sandra.

Memorial service for Carl will be at 11:00am on Saturday, January 21, 2023, with a gathering at 10:30am until the service. The visitation and funeral service will be at the Sunland Mortuary 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd. Sun City, AZ 85351 with Rev. Katrina Steingraeber officiating.
