

Caroline attended public school in Brooklyn, graduated Halsey Junior High (1939), and Bushwick High School (1942) where she was student body secretary and played on the girls basketball team, and was active with the Girls Athletic Association, and with the Latin, Writers, and Fine Arts clubs. After graduating she worked on Wall Street at Bankers Trust.
In 1942, through family connections Caroline met LT Robert Giroux of Prescott as he was transiting New York for WWII combat duty. They married in September 1945 in New York City, and moved to Arizona. They had three children: Frank (Kearny AZ), Lance (Kelseyville CA) and Charlotte (deceased).
Between 1945 and 1970 the family lived in Prescott, Tucson, Kingman, Ray and Kearny. In November 1970, Caroline moved to Phoenix and enrolled in business administration courses at Arizona State University. Stewart Title & Trust hired her in 1981. She worked in their Account Servicing Department until retiring in 1991. In 2014 she moved with her daughter to Burkburnett TX.
Caroline loved and cared deeply for her family, friends and the people of her community. In Ray-Sonora and Kearny she served with ladies auxiliary at St. Helen’s Catholic Church and Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church. She was active with the Parent Teacher Association and served as president. She volunteered at the Kennecott Copper Corporation hospital, and with Boy Scout and Girl Scout units. In Phoenix she was president and secretary of her homeowners association.
Caroline loved art and music, passions that began as a young girl and continued through her life into retirement. She was accomplished at sketch, oil, chalk and sculpture. She loved to dance, sing and play piano. She competed as a member of the Sweet Adelines, a worldwide choral organization of women who sing four-part harmony. She was also a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, an international service and leadership sorority.
Predeceased by her father, mother, husband, daughter and one grandson, Caroline is survived by her two sons and eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. She was interred December 26, 2022, at Sunland Memorial Park.
