Charles “Chuck” Lebda, age 86, passed away at his home in Sun City, Arizona on August 26, 2016. Chuck was born on July 31, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Sophie (Sliwa) and Martin Lebda. He began his working life at 15 years old and was a dedicated, hard worker, so much so, that by 1952 Chuck started his own body & fender repair business, C & A Auto Body Company. On May 22, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois Chuck married the love of his life Doris Fernback and they would remain together for the next 62 years. Chuck and Doris were blessed with two children, Steven and Sally. He was a veteran of the US Army and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 974 in Franklin Park, Illinois.
After his retirement Chuck and Doris started splitting their time between Illinois and Arizona in 2000, only permanently settling in Sun City recently due to his ill health. The company that Chuck founded, C & A Auto Body, was turned over to his son Steve who now proudly serves the Chicago area like his father before him.
Chuck liked woodworking and loved the outdoors but, more than anything, he loved his family and it was his greatest pleasure to spend time with them. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Doris, his two children Steven (Nanci) and Sally Wells (Michael), his three grandchildren Brett Lebda, Arik Lebda and Amanda Tylka, and his great grandson Colten Steven Tylka.
