Constance P. Stecz passed away peacefully on April 28, 2012 at the age of 86 in Arrowhead, Arizona. She died from natural causes after leading a fiercely intentional life.
"Connie" was born on January 17, 1926 in Chicago to Athena and Christ Pishos, grew up in the southwest suburbs, attended Argo High School (later, teaching English at Argo) and she attended Northwestern University and the University of Illinois where she met her husband, Art. Connie and Art raised their family in Hickory Hills, Il, later moved to Argo-Summit, Il where Art started his business and resided in Western Springs from 1968 till 1983. Connie was a homemaker and mother to her two sons Rick and Bill while her husband Art ran his business, Stecz Accounting.
Connie's love for music and especially singing was enormous. From a very early age, she always wanted to sing as a performer and fulfilled her dreams by singing with various choral groups, singing on stage in community musical productions and plays, and by performing solo thematic presentations of songs about the various aspects of living that we all know—love, friendship, sorrow.
Connie was a force to be reckoned with and often expressed in recent time what a wonderful life that she felt she had led. She always got her way. Connie was always positive about her life, and was industrious in every way.
Connie lived in Sun City West, AZ from 1983 to 2008 and for a short while is Burbank, California. Connie's husband, Art, predeceased her in 1972 and she leaves her two sons Rick and Bill.
A private service will be held on May 18, 2012 in Sun City, Arizona.
