David K McConnell, 57, of El Mirage, AZ, passed away peacefully in Phoenix, AZ. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Ronald F & Bonnie L McConnell. Ronald’s career in the US Air Force, took the family to Mt. Clemons, Michigan when Dave was only one year old.
Dave was an exceptional student in high school and always amazed his teachers. After high school he joined the US Navy and he honorably served in the nuclear program for six years. Dave’s submarine was a fast attack, USS Bates.
After the Navy, Dave started at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree while working at Detroit Edison Power Company. He remained there for the next 30 years and retired as a nuclear engineer.
Dave is survived by his parents, Ronald and Bonnie McConnell; brothers, Douglas (Marilyn) McConnell; Rick (Joan) McConnell and Timothy McConnell and several nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his sister, Cynthia Kndrek.
Services will be held privately.
