

Dennis McKinley Bowman, aged 86, passed away on July 5, 2024, in Sun City, Arizona. Born on June 12, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, Dennis was a cherished son to the late Malcolm and Mildred Bowman, and brother to Deanna Harold and Donna Phillips, who preceded him in death.
A proud veteran, Dennis served as a Staff Sergeant E6 in the United States Army, dedicating himself with honor and discipline. Following his military service, he returned to Detroit and embarked on a fulfilling career, initially with the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department where he retired as a Manager. He continued his professional journey at Art Van Furniture as a Field Sales Training Manager until his second retirement.
Dennis was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his family, serving as a devoted son, father, husband, and friend. He is survived by his partner, Mary Kordiak; children, Karen Wischmeyer, Brian Bowman, John Bowman, and Mitchell Bowman; granddaughter, Carrimee Tonero; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Giavanna Tonero.
His hobbies included spending time at the gun range, playing golf, tinkering with cars, bicycling, watching old movies, and tending to his rose garden. These activities brought him immense joy and satisfaction throughout his life.
A memorial service to celebrate Dennis's life will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 10 AM at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 N Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. Sunland Memorial Park is also assisting the family with arrangements.
Dennis Bowman will be remembered for his dedication and the deep love he held for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
