Dennis Everett Neiswender was born July 5th 1945 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Everett and Evelyn Neiswender. He was the second of nine wonderful, gifted and kind siblings. He grew up kind, funny, hard-working and loving life every minute of every day. He loved his family, his friends, co-workers, job, food, car-racing , Coors-light, b movies and golf. He was the light of my life and that light disappeared on Oct 29th when he died very suddenly in his chair. He will be missed and he was one of a kind. He leaves behind his son Mike Neiswender, his wife Candy of 43 years, her son Brien Jon Manning and his wife Donna and their four children Alex, Caty, Libby, Tom and Aubri our great grand daughter. Now he flies with the planes he fixed. He flies with the pilots he knew. His final resting place will be at The Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Phoenix in the spring of 2017.
"HI!” He yelled excitedly from his favorite chair. He was grinning from ear to ear as his face brightened. He then sank back into his comfortable position and returned to reading his latest book. His understated happiness showing in his entire relaxed demeanor. This is the way that he would greet me every single time I walked through the front door of his home.
He opened his home to me and made me feel like I was wanted, a part of the family and that I belonged. He made countless meals and never seemed to tire of cooking for everyone. He had a quirky sense of humor and although he was a man of few words he was always quick with a joke if it seemed like I was sad or just needed to laugh. One thing that struck me about Denny when I met him was that he could sit in silence but it was never awkward. He made his moments count. He had a kind of silent courage that I didn’t understand when I was younger. As an adult, having been through the harrowing trials of life I can look back on the years I spent as an adopted member of his family and see the heroic beauty of his silent steady way. He gave us all a consistency that could be counted on, which helped to make the world a little less scary, a little more predictable because he was always there. He worked hard all of his life. He was steadfast and committed to a tradition of excellence that he inspired in others simply by being himself. I will miss Denny very much, as will all who knew him. “Thank you Denny for everything you did for me, for taking me in and for welcoming me as a part of your family. ~With all my heart ~Tori
