The former Dorothy Quackenboss was born February 23, 1919, in Plymouth, Wisconsin, to Charles O. and Lillian E. Lauer Quackenboss. On February 2, 1974 she married Neil B. Funk at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Neil preceded her in death in 1997.
Following graduation from Fond du Lac Senior High School in 1936, she was employed in the offices of Attorney Roy W. Theil, Hill Brothers Department Store and Fred Rueping Leather Company before joining state service. In 1975 she ended a 32 year career with the Wisconsin State Employment Service/Job Service as a Manpower Specialist II. She and Neil retired to Arizona in 1981.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lillian Marie, who died in childhood, and two brothers, Gilbert and Norbert Quackenboss. She is survived by nieces, nephews and special cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sun City West on Monday, November 21, 2016. Visitation will begin at 9:15 a.m. with the Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow the Mass at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City.
Memorials may be directed to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
