There will be a memorial service for Edith Jeannette Richardson at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 16 in the chapel at Royal Oaks Lifecare Community, 10015 W. Royal Oak Rd., Sun City, AZ, 85351. Mrs. Richardson died June 21, 2014 at Royal Oaks Lifecare Community in Sun City, Arizona. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Richardson, daughters Leslie Riester (Tamara Sorelli), Laurie Stokes (Randy Reed), Dana Riester (Larry Butler), three granddaughters and two great-grandsons, her sister MaryLou Smith (Bobbie L) and brother Palmer Short. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles O. Riester,and her brother Robert Short. Jeannette was born in North Carolina, the daughter of John E, and Mary Viola Short.
Jeannette lived for many years in Montague, Michigan. She taught elementary school and junior high for Whitehall School District. An avid golfer, she was a club champion at her home course in Michigan, and an active member of Union Hills Golf Club in Sun City for many years, where she served as Club Secretary and editor of The Hilltopper.
Jeannette also loved music, singing in her church choir, and more recently, with the Royal Oaks choir. She loved attending classical music events and musical theater, in particular Broadway shows.
