Edwin W. Wolf, 99 and a half, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. He was a current resident of Sun City West, AZ and a long-time former resident of Erie, PA. After a short service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, he became a tool and die maker, later a wholesale florist and for most of his professional life he acted as an estate planner and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) for a variety of life insurance companies while pursuing his personal passions of charity work with the Shriners, winning awards while soaring above the clouds in his sailplane, navigating his pontoon boat to the delight of family and friends, building and flying his RC models and (later in life) travelling the world. After coming to know Jeus as his personal Savior, Ed supported both local and international missions and missionaries while he devoted himself to godly service at Bethel Baptist in Pennsylvania and Covenant Presbyterian Church in Arizona where he maintained a position as an Elder and, as a Gideon, he often shared the Gospel by distributing New Testaments and visiting inmates and leading Bible studies in local prisons. In his last days, he enjoyed being at home with his wife and son as well as the periodic visits from friends and family.
Ed is survived by his wife, Alice Ottaway Wolf, of 75 years, his son, Eric, both residents of Sun City West, AZ, his nephew, Keith Holdsworth of Fairview, NC, his niece, Sharon Holdsworth Barteldt of Waterford PA, a great niece (Erin Honeycutt), a great nephew (Brandn Khun), cousins and friends.
A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sun City West, AZ on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army and/or your local missions/missionaries.
