Elaine Vivian Bathurst

Elaine Vivian Bathurst, 97, of Peoria, AZ entered her heavenly home on March 16, 2013. Born on August 12, 1915, in Rantoul Illinois, she was the youngest daughter of Fred & Elizabeth Hyde. Elaine had 4 sisters and 1 brother. Elaine married Charlie Wax on her 16th birthday and remained his loving wife for 53 years until he passed in 1985. Together they raised 3 children: Charlene, Sanford and Shirley. Elaine was a devoted wife and loving mother. Elaine and Charlie moved many times and lived in various towns and cities across the U. S. They moved to Phoenix in 1959, eventually settling in Sun City. To Elaine, family was the most important part of life. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was extremely proud of all of them. Elaine met Richard Bathurst through mutual friends. After dating for several years, they married. Together they shared the past 17 years in Sun City, AZ. Elaine is survived by her husband Richard, son Sanford and his wife Esther, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charlie, and her daughters Charlene and Shirley. A celebration of her life will be held on April 28, 2013 at 3:00. The service will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, Elaine requested donations be made to St. Christopher’s in the West Valley or Hospice of the Valley.
