Frederick Francis Smith, a cherished and inspirational man, passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on February 5, 1958, in Albany, New York, to his parents, Francis Frank Smith and Dorothy Theresa (Russo) Smith, Frederick was a beloved son and sibling. He grew up enjoying the vibrant culture of New York in the 1960s and 1970s alongside his family and friends.
Frederick was adventurous and hard-working, dedicating his career to helping others. He began as a sales agent and, after earning his Master's degree, became a substance abuse therapist, conducting group therapy sessions. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to create Petart4u, a company through which he expressed his artistic talents by creating watercolor commissions of people's pets.
In his personal life, Frederick was devoted to his family. He married his beloved Natalia on February 9, 1992, and together they shared many wonderful years. Frederick was a kind-hearted and generous father to his children, Dorothea (married to Rodney, with whom she has seven children) and Jeremiah (married to Kristen, with two children). His grandchildren, Layci, Jasmine, Kalli, Audrey, Triniti, Josiah, Gianna, Aria, and Willow, were a source of great joy and pride for him.
Frederick was a gentle and compassionate man, heavily involved in Narcotics Anonymous (NA), where he spent years helping others achieve and maintain sobriety. He celebrated 37 years of his own sobriety on January 12th, marking a life of resilience and selflessness. His commitment to aiding others in reclaiming their lives was a testament to his thoughtful and wise nature.
A man of many interests, Frederick loved Superman, watching sports, and traveling. He was a faithful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who relished spending time with his loved ones. His passion for art was evident in the beautiful creations he made, which expressed his emotions and inspired those around him.
A Celebration Of Life to honor Frederick's life will be held at the Lakeside Chapel of Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Crematory, located at 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351, on July 27, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
