Irene M. Ringdahl

Irene Ringdahl-Sleeper (82) of Peoria, went peacefully to be with her Lord on the 12th of August, 2016. Born in Steele, ND to the late Martin and Bertha Janke. Irene graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo, ND where she met and married Kenneth Ringdahl, the love of her life. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Ken (2003(, her son Brian (2014), her brother Marlyn Janke (2003), her sister Dolores Hansen (1979). Irene and Ken moved to the Phoenix area in 1960. Irene took an early retirement from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management in 1995. Irene had a strong faith in God and was eternally dedicated to her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker, with compassion, integrity, abundant energy and a generous spirit. She had a talent for decorating, cooking, entertaining, playing bridge and most card games. She loved her home and her family, but most of all she loved her Lord, the Master of her life. After Ken's death in 2003, Irene was fortunate to meet and marry Ralph Sleeper in 2012. Ralph, an avid golfer and bridge player, they enjoyed time spent with their golf and bridge friends. Irene is survived by her husband Ralph; daughter Beth Ringdahl (fiancé Joe Carter); daughter-in-law Annette Ringdahl; grandchildren John (Stephanie) Comer, Matthew Ringdahl, Latasha (Joshua Williams) Brantley and 5 great grandchildren, Connor, Stevie, Rhianna, Alexis, and Brian; step children Brad (Lynda) Sleeper, Mark (Cindy Esler) Sleeper, Cindy (Gary) Ehm; sister- in- law Kay Janke, Steele, ND and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of Irene's life will be held at Peace Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 27th at 11:30 am, a short reception will follow. Donations may be made in Irene's name to Oak Grove Lutheran School, 124 N. Terrace, Fargo, ND 58102 or Peace Lutheran Church.
