Michael J. Swinford passed away peacefully at his home in Sun City on January 19th, 2021, with his loving wife by his side. Michael was born August 23rd, 1948, in Mattoon, Illinois where he spent his early years as a child before moving to Arizona when he was 10 years old. He spent the rest of his life here where he graduated from Grand Canyon University and started working for the Glendale School District as a P.E. Coach. This would become his career until his retirement many years later with the Peoria School District. In his spare time he always enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Michael will always be remembered for his kind, patient and genuine spirit always bringing his sense of humor and energy into any room he was in. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Fran, his two children, Chad and Logan Swinford, daughter in law, Brandy, and step son, Craig, and five grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 2:00pm at Sunland Mortuary Lakeside Chapel, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, Arizona.
