Avis de décès de Janice Alice Perine
AUX SOINS DE

Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center

Janice Alice Perine, age 89, of Glendale, Arizona passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024.

Janice was born on a farm near Parkston, South Dakota on January 25,1935 as the 4th child to Albert Winter and Hulda Uttecht Winter. She weighed 9 pounds and 11 ounces at birth. On February 23, 1935, she went on to be baptized in a country church close to the farm called Eigenfeld Lutheran church.

Since her youth Janice was a big fan of her uncle Dan. He would carry her all over town on Saturday night when the farmers did their marketing. Dan would take Janice to the pool halls, feed store, grocery store and wherever he went until it was time to go home. Janice was known to have her own language and was always found jabbering to her uncle Sam and others around. Sam liked to sit and ask Janice questions, and she would jabber and jabber on for him. Janice developed a strong imagination and was a very imaginative youngster. If a worm was to crawl in front of her, she would say it was a snake. Janice was always dreaming about something and was very artistic with her imagination. Janice's parents bought an old school building and remodeled it into a garage for the farm. Half of the building was used to store grain during the winter. When the grain bin wasn’t full, Janice loved to play there but only when she could play the teacher. All the kids enjoyed playing there and using the blackboard that was still inside the old building.

From a young age Janice was also musically inclined. She took piano lessons from catholic nuns in Parkston and later started to take voice training with them. Her voice was high and clear. She never had a fear of not signing publicly and loved to do it and it came naturally to her. Recitals were held twice a year at the catholic school, and she was always sure to sing in them. From that point on she sang in MANY choirs, solos and duets. Janice truly loved music and loved to show the world her voice and performances throughout the years. Music was a major part of Janice's life. She loved sharing her music and voice with all the audiences she naturally drew. They in return loved and enjoyed listening to her truly beautiful and exceptional voice.

Janice is remembered by her loving and kind family. She was a truly remarkable, talented and fun individual. Like her music she was kind and giving. Janice was a deeply loved person, and she will be equally missed.
