As a toddler with his mother and father they moved to Arizona. They all lived in a trailer on the land they bought to build the house they lived in for over 60 years. As a child and up to a teenager he would always say he helped build the house they lived in.
As a teenager he worked in an Ice cream shop and would always bring his siblings ice cream.
In 1966, He was drafted into the Army and fought for his country from November 2, 1966 to October 17, 1968. He was stationed in Germany. His mother Sarah prayed for his safe return every day.
As an adult after the Army, he worked with his father John Edie Sr. and other family members with a produce business picking fruits. Then in the 70’s he worked with his brother Wayne Edie doing drywall and construction. He continued this with his dad, and Brothers Richard and Robert Edie.
Years later he worked with his dad John in a wheel Business called Mags-n-Wheels. Johnny had continued doing this business long after his father passed, just as his father had wanted him to do.
He was a son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend an in law and a father figure to some. If you needed help he would be there. Not a day would go by without him helping someone big or small whether you needed a ride or an errand done. If you were in trouble he would come to your side to help. Something needed to be fixed he would be right there with tools ready to help.
He was an incredible heartfelt man who loved all his family. Ever since his sister Mary Anne became ill he would visit her in the nursing home every day until he became ill himself.
God would say "well done good and faithful servant".
