Jack was lovingly received into the world by his late parents, John and Doris Magee, on October 20, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut where he grew up with his younger sister, Dorene. He graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1964 and immediately enlisted in the US Air Force. As a proud American he fought for our county in Vietnam and continued to serve his country for twenty years, retiring with pride in 1984 from Luke AFB in Arizona. After retiring, he went to school and earned his accounting degree. He worked for the State of Arizona until he retired in 2004. Since retiring he helped take care of his grandchildren, volunteered, and spent time with family. He taught Sunday School for over thirty years and was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister until he was unable to do so due to his MS. He was a season ticket holder at Arizona Broadway Theatre. He was often recognized as “Papa Jack”, ringing his cowbells in support of his grandson playing football and soccer, and loved seeing his granddaughter help with the football team and singing in her recitals.
Jack took great pride in his family. He is survived by his wife, the true love of his life, Kay, and their three children Scott, Jody, and Jennifer. He is also survived by his daughter Jody’s husband, Adam Mooberry and their children, his pride and joy; grandson, Tyler and granddaughter, Taylor. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by his sister, Dorene and her husband Dennis Bernardi along with their 3 children David Bernardi, Christine Pagano and Nina Kareliussen. He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends and extended family.
