Beloved Judy is survived by her mother, Marlene Anderson; her husband George Hogan; daughter Amanda Schmitz; son George Hogan Jr; grandchildren, Deanna Jordan and Logan Carroll; a great grandchild, Morgana Jordan; sisters, Karen Huppert, Jeanne Howard, Theresa Earls; brother Jon Anderson. Judy was preceded in death by her daughter Sheryl Carroll.
Judy was born and raised in Markham, Illinois. Married in 1975 and had three cherished children who gave Judy two wonderful grandchildren and one great grandchild. Sadly, Judy never met her great grandchild. Judy moved to Arizona in 2008 to be near her mother and oldest daughter. She taught high school and elementary school mathematics until the cancer was diagnosed in August 2015.
Judy was a very giving person during her lifetime. She had 24 great years of volunteering with Girl Scouts and loved everyone and every day with the scouts. Especially working with the troops or teaching sewing to the girls. But moving to Arizona ended her volunteering in Illinois. Here in Arizona when diagnosed with cancer and being home, Judy began crocheting hats and blankets for preemies at the hospital or for other great causes. And as would be Judy she requested that her body be donated to Midwestern University so that future doctors might learn how to stop the kind of cancer she had. Through the eyes and hands of those future doctors, Judy will continue giving to others for another 30 or 40 years. We are so proud of Judy.
We just know that Judy is now in Heaven with Sheryl, hugging and kissing, and catching up on how great a boy Logan has become and how well his father Matt is taking care of Logan.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday Dec. 3rd at the Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City AZ. The family request there be no flower contributions, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Midwestern University, Girl Scouts, Salvation Army, Hospice of the Valley, or the Cancer Society.
