

Kenneth (Ken) Iske passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024. He was 95 years old. Born on September 29, 1928 to Clyde and Mabel (McLean) Iske in Ogden, Utah. Clyde and Mabel returned to Omaha, Nebraska to raise their family. Ken graduated from Central High School (Omaha, Nebraska) in 1947. During high school Ken was in the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) all four years and made Staff Sergeant for his Junior and Senior years. He was in the Non-Commissioned Officer’s Club
(NCOC), Boy’s Senior Glee Club, A Cappella Choir, Opera Club, Music Festival Club, and Latin Club. Ken served 9 years in the Nebraska National Guard, 134th Regiment from June 1948 - June 1957.
Ken was accepted into University of Omaha (University of Nebraska – Omaha) and graduated in 1951 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration. Ken married his long time love, Vivian Briggs, on June 16, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. Ken and Vivian had known each other for many years prior to their courtship. Vivian was the love of his life. They were married for 73 years until Ken’s passing. After Ken graduated from the University of Omaha, he worked for the General Motors Company (GMC) as an insurance adjuster. Ken traveled all over Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas investigating auto accident claims. He worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1984. Ken and Vivian decided to retire to Arizona and moved soon after Ken’s retirement was official. They settled in Sun City West, AZ. While in retirement Ken was a part of the General Motors Retirees Club. Ken loved his cars, and was a very proud owner of only GM made vehicles. Ken and Vivian made the most of their time in retirement, traveling around the world, mostly by cruises. They had a few favorite routes they took multiple times in the Caribbean and the
Hawaian islands. Ken is survived by his wife, Vivian; his son, Steve (Judy Wissing) Iske of Grand
Island, Nebraska; One grandson, Brandon Iske (Geri Knight-Iske) of Millersville, Maryland; Two great granddaughters Sydney and Morgan Iske; One sister, Aloise Failing Wrobel of Sun City West, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you take a drive in your car and enjoy the music of Frank Sinatra.
